Roger proudly served two years in the Army before returning home, where he then worked diligently in the construction industry for more than 35 years, having worked for Warren-Brothers, Tilcon and eventually Pike Industries before his retirement in 1998.
Roger is survived by his loving wife Linda; two sons, Bill and fiancee Melissa Page of Fairfield Center, and Roger and partner Peter Hebert of Jacksonville, Fla. Sadly, he will also be greatly missed by his three adoring grandchildren Alexis, Dylan and Kaylee Dickinson, who lovingly know him as "Hoppy." Roger is also survived by nine siblings and their families, who will miss him greatly, three brothers , Robert and wife Alice Dickinson, Norman and Lynda Dickinson, and Richard Dickinson; and six sisters, Elizabeth and husband Alton Herbest, Roberta (Laurel) Dickinson, Evelyn and husband Lawrence Goodwin, Gloria and husband Wayne LeHay, Ruth and husband Tom LaPlante, Shirley and husband Tom Stevens, and Pam and husband Mark Salwasser; and by family friend Heidi Pelotte, mother of Kaylee.
Roger is predeceased by his parents Laurel and Laura, and brother Laurel Jr.
Burial will take place at a later time at the Tozier Cemetery in Fairfield Center. (Morning Sentinel 4/19/2011)
