Ralph H. Ackley, 71, of 1435 Barney Ave. Dayton, a former Pike County resident died 9:45 am Monday at his residence.
He was born April 11, 1921, in Columbus to Silas W. and Cenith
Ann Hanshaw Ackley. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eva Jean Beekman. On Apirl 18,1954, he married Norma Mustard Ackley who survives.
Also surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Linda Ackley, Peebles, Ohio, David Earl, and Mary Lee Ackley, Greenville, S.C. and Roger and Sandy Ackley, Kettering; two daughters, Cheryl Ann Stewart, Waverly, and Mrs. Abe (Marilyn) Espinosa, Sugarland, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren;. one brother, Ernie Ackley, Reynoldsburg, Ohio; one sister-in-Law, Mrs. Maggie Ackley, Latham. He was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.
Mr. Ackley retired after 23 years as a machinist from NCR Corp. He was a World War II Army veteran.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Botkin Funeral Home, Waverly, with Rev. Jimmie Williams officiating.. Military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Merritt Post 142 of Waverly in the Arkoe Cemetery, near Elm Grove, Ohio. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the funeral home.
