He was the son of Jerry W. Hamilton and Rachel M. LaRue. His death certificate is said to give his date of birth as 1857.N.B. Hamilton, 84, died at his home in Poynor, Wednesday night, December 10, at 8 o'clock. He had been in ill health due to the infirmities of age for several years, but was able to be up and at his tasks about home until Wednesday, just a few hours before death came to him.
Mr. Hamilton was a native Texan, having been born in Robertson county. He moved to Poynor 27 years ago and had made his home there since then. He was engaged in farming interests for a number of years. He was a life-time member of the Methodist Church.
Funeral services were conducted at the church, with burial in the Poynor cemetery. Rev. W.P. Bond, pastor of the Frankston Methodist Church was in charge of the service.
The deceased is survived by his wife; four daughters, Mrs. John Wagner of Poynor, Mrs. Ida Sheffield and Mrs. Willie Odom of Bremond; Mrs. Lida Tucker of Paris; two sons, Otis Hamilton of Athens and Henry Hamilton of Pensacola, Fla.; one brother, S.L. Hamilton of Poynor and two step-sons.
