Funeral for Early Bexar County Settler to Be Held Wednesday
William F. Gembler, 71, a pioneer settler of Bexar County, died at his farm on the W.W. White Road, near Southton, Monday night. He was a native of Germany, but had resided in Texas 66 years.
Mr. Gembler is survived by his wife, Mrs. Wilhelmine Gembler, and six sons and six daughters. The sons are Fred, William, John, Albert, Eddie and Ernest Gembler. The daughters are: Mrs. Henry Henze, Mrs. Mary Cole, Mrs. Franz Walters, Mrs. Alvina Chavez, Mrs. Emma Priest and Mrs. Edna Trevino. A brother, Christian Gembler, and a sister, Mrs. Andreas Sendemer, also survive him.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Sager of the Southton Lutheran Church officiating. The active pallbearers will be: H. Tessman, J. Barkmeyer, R. Vail, Charles Henze, Carl Henze and H. L. Barkmeyer. The honorary pallbearers will be: H.P. Tessman, H. Donop, Louis Donop, George Sengenberger, Alfred Barkmeyer and Louis Brehm.
