My Maternal Great Grandfather. He came to the USA from England as a young man. He was married to Georgeanna Lowndes(nee Sherwood). Edward and Georgeann had eight children: Rev. Louis Lowndes, John Lowndes, Joseph Lowndes, Rudolph W. Lowndes, Catherine Maebel Williams (nee Lowndes), Cora White(nee Lowndes), Edna Boyd (nee Lowndes), and Regina McKnight (nee Lowndes). He played the violin and smoked a pipe. I always loved the smell of his pipe.
