Clarice Maurine Walker, 100, of LaBelle, Mo., died Wednesday, October 18, 2006, in the Country Aire Retirement Estate of Lewistown, Mo. Born Near Midway, in rural Lewis County, Missouri, she was the daughter of Lee M. and Georgie H. Baxter Merrell. She married Kenneth W. Walker, June 16, 1928, in Wyaconda, Mo. He died November 6, 1980. She attended the rural Walker School and was a 50 year member of the LaBelle Chapter #316 Order of the Easter Star. She was an active member of the First Christian Church of LaBelle including the Esperanza Class and the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was known for her baking. Mrs. Walker enjoyed playing cards with friends and neighbors, camping, fishing and gardening. Her home was always open to young people. Surviving are one daughter, Janet Runquist and her husband Kenneth, of Knox City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Katie Runquist of Taylor, Jason Runquist and special friend, Janet Holtkamp of Knox City, and Phoebe Adams and husband Jon of Canton. Also surviving great-grandchildren are Lauren Runquist, Chelsea Adams and Heather Adams; nieces LaVerne Bevans of Williamstown, Roberta Likes of Quincy; Carol Lee Bishop of Edina, and special friend, Allene Walter Mason. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Alice Myers and three brothers, Robert, Johnnie and Ellis Merrell. Funeral services were Saturday, October 21, 2006, in the Coder Funeral Chapel of LaBelle, Mo. Rev. Maynard Blackwood officiated. Burial was in the LaBelle Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of LaBelle Building Fund, LaBelle Chapter #316 Order of the Eastern Star or the Country Aire Retirement Estates of LaBelle, Missouri and may be left at or mailed to the Coder Funeral Chapel, P.O.
