John Henry Neal’s parents were William Daniel Neal and Susan “Susie” Emma Fennell daughter of Nathan Fennell CSA, and Catherine Temperance Donaldson all are buried at Silver leaf Cemetery, Lauren’s Co. Ga. William Daniel and Susie Neal lived in the Minter Community, Lauren’s Co. Ga. After William Daniels death Susie lived in Neilly, Lumber City, in Telfair Co. Ga., near John Henry Neal. William Daniel Neal’s children were: John Henry Neal, 1882/Kate Cornelia Powell, Zylphia, 1884/ Henry G. Miller, Viola, 1886/E. W. Curl, Wilburn Walter Neal, 1888/Nellie Adams, James Kelly Neal, 1890, Willie Aaron Neal, 1891, Mary Ocella, 1893, /Edger Lee Curl, Vera Jane, 1896, /Duncan F. Mims, Cora Bell Neal, 1897, Lena Lee Neal, 1900, Rebecca, 1904, /Troy Nelms, Herschel Leon Neal Sr., 1906/Ola Mercer.

William Daniel Neal’s parents were John, b. 1821, d. aft 1862 and Martha Ann Douglas Neal/Neill/Neel b. 1831, d. Aft. 1862, m. 1848, Emanuel Co. Ga. John Neal lived on Neel’s Creek in 1830, 1840, 1850 in Emanuel Co. Ga., 56th militia district, in 1860 John lived in the same location but it is then Johnson Co. Ga. Martha Ann’s name was changed from “Rich” illegitimate to “Douglas” in 1832 by her father William Douglas son of Edward Douglas. Her mother may have been Zilpha Rich daughter of Stephen Rich and Abiah b. 1775. John Neal’s children were: Martha J., 1850, William Daniel 1852, , Elizabeth, 1854, Sarah, 1857, James T. Neal, 1859. John Neal was released from the army in Nov. 1861 or released from the army hospital in 1862, Co. F, 14th Infantry Regiment, Ga. William Daniel Neal is the only family member that we have a record of after 1862.

They lived in Emanuel Co. Ga., on Neel’s Creek in her father in law’s house. They also had a daughter Sarah Ann Neal Thomas, b. Dec 19, 1828, wife of Rev. Manning Thomas both buried at Silver Leaf Cemetery, Lauren’s Co. Ga.

Daniel Neal’s parents were Thomas “JT” Neal/Neel b. 1770’s, d. aft. 1820 and unknown wife both living in 1820 Emanuel Census. Thomas was probably a Jr., James Thomas Neal. Thomas Neal had two children Daniel and an unknown older sister in 1820 Emanuel Census. Thomas was probably in Washington Co. Ga., and then Montgomery and Emanuel County, Ga. In the 1820 Census Emanuel County the location is Neel’s Creek, 56th militia district.

Thomas Neal’s parents were James b. 1748, d. 1806 Montgomery Co. Ga., and his wife Priscilla unknown maiden name. They live in St. Paul Parish, Ga., in 1773. James Neal was a farmer and a baptist. James Neal’s children were: Thomas “TJ”, Elias, Monneyca/Monica b. 1773, Amey/Amy, Arthur, Britain. Monneyca had three children Mitchell, Henry and Milley all had the last name Neal in 1806. In 1808 she married John Byrd and they lived beside Thomas her brother in the 1820 Emanuel census.
