Dorris was born Oct. 8, 1936, in Houston, Texas, daughter of the late Fredrick H. Beardsley and Goldie Alice Moore Beardsley.
She was a homemaker and a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was definitely the matriarch of the family. She was also a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, Dorris was preceded in death by a daughter, Deeanna Leinmiller.
She married Bernard P. Leinmiller on Oct. 23, 1958, in Great Bend, Kan. He survives.
Additional survivors include her children, Lisa Cleaveland and husband Mark, of Joplin, Maika Hardison, of Germany, Russ Leinmiller, and Bill Cottrill and wife Brenda, all of Joplin; grandchildren, Christina Emmett and husband Dustin, and Todd Ritter and wife Heather; great-grandchildren, Americus, Hunter, Logan and Anthony.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, May 25, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with Father J. Friedel officiating. Entombment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Mausoleum with family serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Joplin Humane Society.
