Mrs. Ellen C. Hohenstein, 88, 45 Bel Aire Drive, died at 9:50 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Tallula the daughter of Anthony and Catherine (Neugent) Gibbons. She married Albert E. Hohenstein, Sr. in 1910. Mrs. Hohenstein was formerly employed by Illinois Bell Telephone, Co. and was preceeded in death by her husband in 1978. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Warner of Arlington, Va.; three sons, Vincent H. and Albert E., Jr., both of Springfield, and John A. of Peco Rivira, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Staab Funeral Home with the Rev. Patrick Wright officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
