Ray L. Dougherty, 52, local real estate man, was unable to recover from a cerebral hemorrhage attack which he suffered Wednesday morning, and died at the Municipal hospital Friday [Nov 28] at 10:07 am.

Ray was reared in the New Market vicinity. His father was T.M. "Garve" Dougherty, banker in that vicinity, who died in 1927. His wife and 2 1/2 year old daughter, Janice Rae survive him, also a brother, Ralph, of Kansas City. His business career has been in both Clarinda and Omaha.

Among those who are here for the funeral, which is being held this Monday afternoon at 2 are Mr and Mrs Ralph Dougherty of Kansas City; Mrs Alvina Squires of Denver, Colo, mother of Mrs Dougherty.

Rev Lester Greenwood of the Methodist church is in charge of the service at the Walker Funeral home. Mrs Doris Forbes and Miss Aletha Hutchings furnishing the music. Burial will be in Old Memory cemetery near New Market. CLARINDA HERALD JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa, Dec 1, 1952 Monday
