Corle N Pierce Dies, Was Druggist At High School Store

Corle N Pierce, 54-year-old druggist and friend of Central high-school pupils, died at St Anthony hospital Thursday after an eight-month illness of cancer.

Pierce, who lived at 1628 Northwest Forty-sixth street, had been employed at the High school Pharmacy, student hangout, since he came here from Muskogee in 1933. He was especially popular among the Black Shirts, school pep organization, and school athletes.

Born in Moundville, Mo., his family moved to McAlester, which was then in Indian Territory, when he was a small boy. Pierce received his education there, and in his 20s moved to Muskogee, where he opened a confectionery shop, the Green Frog.

Pierce was a Knight Templar and a Shriner. His wife, Mary H, and 10-year-old son, Corle jr., survive. He also leaves a sister, Mrs C P Anderson, of Sunrise Beach, Mo.
