Robert " Brownie" Amos Brown, 84 of Ironton passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009 at a local health care facility. The Lawrence County native was born February 25, 1925, the son of the late Alfred and Anna Belle French Brown.

Mr. Brown was a Navy World War II Veteran and was the owner and operator of Brown's Market in Westwood, KY. for over 20 years and also a vendor at the Milton Flea Market for many years.
Mr. Brown was a member of the Gateway Baptist Church of Ironton.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by:
his wife of 39 years: Anna Luree Rapp Brown, whom passed away January 8, 1988
five sisters:
Mary Young,
Florence Goad,
Lillian Goad,
Addie Marie Flake,
Sarah Rowe

He is survived by:
two sisters:
Anna Blankenship of Ironton
Sue Switzwer of Covington, KY.

two nieces:

Funeral service was at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, OH. 45638 with Brother John Robbins officiating. Burial followed in Woodland Cemetery.
