Glenn E. Bock April 12, 1949 - Aug. 18, 2008

Boise

lenn E. Bock, 59, of Boise, Idaho, passed away Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, of cancer. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Eagle. There will be a brief service at the cemetery.

Glenn was born April 12, 1949, in Sidney, Mont., to Cy and Dorothy Bock. He was raised in Nyssa, Ore., and graduated from Nyssa High School in 1967. Glenn served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam from December 1969 to November 1971. He was point man for his squad until his unit commander needed someone with typing skills to work in the office. Glenn raised his hand high, happy to get off the front line.

After his military service, he attended Boise State briefly until finding his niche as a security guard at BSU in 1973. He was later promoted to supervisor of campus security. Glenn was one of the biggest fans of BSU Broncos football. When he wasn’t cheering for the Broncos, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and entertaining his nieces (who called him “Uncle Mustache”) and nephew. He loved spending time with his family and with the family of his best friend of 50 years, John Church, of Fruitland. He enjoyed telling funny stories with a twinkle in his eye and a mischievous grin that preceded a hearty laugh from everyone.

Glenn is survived by his mother of Nyssa; three sisters; a nephew and two nieces. He also had two grandnephews in Texas. He was preceded in death by his father Cy Bock.
