Thomas died at College Oak Nursing Home, Sacramento. Preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Abellera. Survived by 3 children: Suzanne Abellera Nevling, Thomas Abellera, Jr., & James William Abellera; sisters: Evangeline Parades, Edith Farran, Nora Arnel; 3 grandchildren & a host of nieces & nephews. He received a LLB Law Degree from National University School of Law, Washington, D.C. & a Master's Degree in International Relations from Georgetown University, Washington D.C. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot flight commander WWII, retiring 1968 as a Lt. Col. He then worked as a guidance counselor for Sac. Unified School District. Thomas was a champion table
tennis player. He will be dearly missed.
Interment at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
