Erick died from AIDS three months later on 12 January 1994, age 43.
Erick and Johnny Mack's father Jerry "Jay" Knapp remarried after he and their mother divorced. Erick and Johnny Mack had half-siblings from this union.
Their mother Florene Susan Logan White was married four times, had six children, one daughter and five sons. Florene and my mother were sisters in a family of 13 children.
