Johnny Glenn "Carbide" Terry, 50, of Wayland died Wednesday, February 26, 2003, at Our Lady Of The Way Hospital in Martin. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 1, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.

Johnny Glenn Terry was born in Martin, Kentucky, on June 11, 1952, the son of Corbett and Ellen Hicks Terry. He was a graduate of Wayland High School in Wayland, Kentucky, and of the Harlan Kentucky Vocaional School with a certificate in HVAC. He worked at various times as an HVAC technician on federally funded construction sites in several area of the country. He also spent several years working at the Job Corps Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He loved to talk, meet people, make jokes, and was a very funny person. He is survived by two brothers, Jack D. Terry and James Gregory Terry; two sisters, Joyce Terry Bush and Judy Lynn Terry McGuire, 4 nieces and 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents Woots and Susie Hicks; and paternal grandparents Preston and Rachel Terry.
