LEESBURG — Alver Lee "Dub" Clark, 89, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011.

Mr. Clark was born in Vernon. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and Army and served during World War II. He loved people, especially visiting with friends, and his hobby was repairing lawn mowers. He was a member of Leesburg Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include wife, Vernelle Clark of Leesburg; sons, Duane (Cheryl) Clark of Lake City, James Clark of Leesburg, Frank (Mary) Clark of Jacksonville, and David (Darlene) Clark of Leesburg; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel in Leesburg, with visitation one hour before the service. Burial with military honors will follow at Lone Oak Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Beyers Funeral Home and Crematory in Leesburg.

ALVER LEE "DUB" CLARK, 89, of Leesburg, Florida
was born July 26, 1922 in Vernon, Florida and died
Sunday, August 21, 2011 in the Villages, Florida. He
was a Veteran of the US Navy and Army and served
during WWII. A long time resident of Leesburg, he
loved people, especially visiting with friends and his
hobby was repairing lawn mowers. Mr. Clark was a
member of Leesburg Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Vernelle of
Leesburg; sons: Duane (Cheryl) Clark of Lake City;
James Clark of Leesburg; Frank (Mary) Clark of
Jacksonville and David (Darlene) Clark of Leesburg;
grandchildren: Shannon Roncone, Rodney Clark, Rachel
Patnode, Leah Jackson, Ben Clark, Freddy Mitchell and
Justin Clark; great grandchildren: Bradley Clark,
Rebecca and Ryan Roncone, Ryleigh, Ryder and Sammy
Patnode and Aubrey Jackson.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, August
24, 2011 at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, Leesburg
with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial
including Military Honors will follow at Lone Oak
Cemetery.
