He was a Fire Chief with the City of Asheville Fire Department, retiring July 1, 1999 after 44 years service. He also was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, the Buncombe County E.M.S. and the Fireman’s Association.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sara Lois Buckner Causey; daughter, Vickie Causey Parker of Asheville; two sons, Jimmie J. Causey, II, and wife Melody, of Asheville; Joseph Daniel Causey, and wife Cathy, of Fletcher; four grandchildren, Steven Parker, II, William Parker, Skylar Causey and Savannah Causey; two brothers, Bobby Causey of Asheville and Mike Causey, his wife Brenda, and their daughter Rebecca, of Weaverville.
