Jack was the seventh child born to Ollie Sr. & Mary Magdalene (Woods) McGee, in the "Big House" on the Dunn Plantation in Yazoo County, Mississippi.
He married Arletha Newton on September 26, 1965 and between them came four children. Two of his daughters, Ynette McGee and Jacqueline McGee-Carter, preceded him death.
