Born in Syracuse, he attended Central High School. He retired in 1988 after 36 years with CNY Centro. He was a sergeant in the Marine Corps during World War II, serving at Guadalcanal, and a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors: His wife of 53 years, the former Marion Cavanaugh; four sons, James of Woodbridge, Va., Michael of Westvale, Robert of Houston and Patrick of Denver; four daughters, Kathleen Fox of Camillus, Carolann Casey of Los Angeles, Mary Frances Wheeler of Auburn and Lynn Casey of Westvale; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday in St. Cecilia's Church, Solvay. Private burial, Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. No calling hours. Delaney & Greabell Funeral Home, East Syracuse, has arrangements.
