David Morris Towns (1949 - 2011)
David Morris Towns, 62, passed away at his home in Granbury on Monday, Sept. 5, 2011. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at First Baptist Church in Calvert. Interment: Nesbitt Cemetery in Calvert. Services will be under the direction of Heartfield Funeral Home, 110 W. Second St., Hearne, 979-279-3444.
David was born in Bremond on Jan. 26, 1949, and attended Calvert schools. He served his country in the Army and was a decorated Vietnam War veteran. David was a wonderful son, brother and friend, a loving father and a proud grandfather.
Survivors: Children, Mike and Natalie Johnson of Missouri and Cody and Kara Towns and Rebecca Oelkhe, all of Texas; 10 grandchildren; four brothers; four sisters and their spouses; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
