A story told by Henrietta's grandaughter, Ora Bland Cowan: As young children, Ora and a friend helped Henrietta (blind for 15-20 years before her death) to the outhouse and as children's attention spans go, quickly forgot their responsiblity and went off to play. A short while later, after remembering that Henrietta was left at the outhouse, the girls ran back to assist her. Henrietta was obviously slow to anger as she was waiting quite patiently for the girls when they came back and never complained a bit!
