THE PAWNEE CHIEF (Pawnee City, Nebraska)- Wednesday, September 15, 1943- Page 6.
News Notes From...DuBois
Margaret Lucinda Lore, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Lore, was born Sept. 17, 1870, on the farm 1 1/2 miles west of DuBois, and passed away Sept. 10, 1943 at the Pawnee hospital after a brief illness, at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 24 days. Maggie, as her friends called her, was a lover of children and delighted to have them near her. A very kindly and patient friend, very gracious in her attitude to a caller in the home; well liked by all who knew her, quiet and unassuming in her ways. She was born and lived her entire life on the same farm, content to live in her house by the side of the road, and let the rest of the world go by.

Earlier in her life she attended the Methodist church in DuBois and whenever possible in later life she was present. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Lore, four sisters, Addie, Emma and Laura Lore and Hattie Clinton and one brother, Philip S. Lore.

She reached her allotted time and was privileged to tarry awhile longer to enrich the lives around her.

She leaves to mourn her departure one brother, James Lore, of Beatrice, one nephew, Bert Clinton of DuBois, other relatives and many friends. The family name has long been associated with earlier history of this community, an again we bid farewell to a friend who watched the development of our community, helped to do her part and has laid down her burden and answered the roll call for life beyond the grave. Services were at the United Brethren church at 3 p. m. Sunday afternoon, Rev. Otis Webb in charge. burial at Cincinnati cemetery.
