Retired Frisco employee Carl G. Alfred, 87, of 2123 North Rogers, was dead on arrival at Cox Medical Center at 5:25 p.m. Thursday [August 12] after he was suddenly stricken at his home. Mr. Alfred had worked for the Frisco 50 years before his retirement.
A native of Arkansas, Mr. Alfred had lived in Springfield more than 60 years. He was a member of High Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Inez Carr, of 2747 West Lincoln; a step-son Charles Cowan, address unknown; and six grand-children, 26 great grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Klingner Chapel…. Burial will be at White Chapel Cemetery.
