Ella Norah Duncan, the daughter of Nancy C. and William Duncan, was born June 6, 1865, in Lewis county. She was united in marriage to Stephen A. Gruber January 1, 1882, and to this union were born ten children, two of whom died in infancy and Charles S., of Lodi, Cal.; Benjamin, of Modesta, Cal.; Mrs. Pearl Comstock, of San Diego, Cal.; Mrs. Josie Cruikshank, of Minturn, Colo.; Mrs. Mary King, of Lewistown; and Mrs. Bessie Woodworth, Mrs. Annie Hutchinson and Mrs. Earl Doscher, all of Ewing. Her husband preceded her in death on December 20, 1911. From the age of 20 she was a member of the Baptist church. January 10, 1917, She was married to Wm. H. Cason. She died June 26, 1937, and her funeral was held June 28, with the Rev. V. O. Graves officiating. Burial was in Durham cemetery.
