Eric West Benge, married in 2002 to Christina Denise Logsdon Benge, was devoted husband, father, son, and brother. He a former member and boxer at the Westwood Boys Club, was an avid rail buggy enthusiast and hunter, and loved the outdoors.

Though a sad and horrible death, Eric died as a result of doing something he loved. He was killed on a sunny afternoon when he and his friend were out riding dune buggies before winter began, His buggy, which he believed was in first gear, was actually in reverse, sending Eric and his friend down over a 275 foot embankment, where the buggy landed upside down on top of them.

Born the son of Gary L. and Sharon Addington Benge of Ashland, Ky, in Whitesburg, KY, he was an employee of Chafin Lawn Care and attended Old Orchard Church of Christ, both in Ashland, Kentucky.
He was a graduate of Fairview High School in Westwood Kentucky.

He is survived by his parents Sharon and Gary Benge of Westwood, his wife Denise and their daughter Taylor Nicole, as well as his beautiful and loving sister, from where Taylor's middle name came, Nichole Celeste Benge, of Ashland, Kentucky, and her fiance' Roger Dale Groves, their son Gavin Glendale Groves, and daugher, Apri Groves. He is also survived by his brothers, Ben N. Benge of Columbus, Ohio, and Gary L. Benge II of Westwood, as well as his maternal grandparents, Betty Addington of Eolia, Ky., and paternal grandmother, Betty Benge of Seco, Ky.; ihis n-laws, Jim and Jamie Roberts of Rush, Ky., and Garland and Susan Logsdon of Jacksonville, Florida, and a host of other relatives and friends.
