Billy passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center after an accident at home.

A native of Franklin County, Billy was a member of North Frankfort Baptist Church. He worked for the Commonwealth of Kentucky for 27 years as a small engine technician and farm machinery mechanic. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Lisa Smither; two daughters, Kristi (Jason) Broyles, and Teresa "TT" Smither, both of Frankfort; two grandchildren, Jessica and CJ Broyles; mother, Hazel Newton Smither; brother, Scotty (Connie Sue) Smither; sister, Connie Ann (Forrest) Banta, all of Frankfort; and sister, Teresa (Mike) Preston, Lebanon Junction. He was preceded in death by his father, Zack Lewis Smither.

Jason Broyles, Jason Hall, Mike Harrod, AC Smither, William McDonald, and Zac McDonald will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jonathan "Chunky" Cummins, Forrest Banta, Bill Wilhoite, Byrl Manley, David Collins, Donnie Powell, Garth Vinson, Ryan Hix, and Troy Estes.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in memory of Billy, an organ donor, to Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates (KODA), Attn: Director of Administrative Service, 106 E. Broadway, Louisville, KY 40202, or to North Frankfort Baptist Church, 7945 Owenton Road, Frankfort, KY 40601.
