A native of Social Circle, he was a son of the late Oscar Lewis and Lucy Bell Almand and was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Almand. He was a building contractor for over 50 years and helped build Oasis Faith Baptist Church and Willow Springs Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 22 at 11 a.m. at Oconee Chapel, Hwy 53, Watkinsville. Interment was in Oconee Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene Almand; four children, Anthony Almand, Rhonda Durand, Jessie T. Almand, Jr. and Mark Almand, all of Madison; brother, Billy Almand of Social Circle; four grandchildren, Steven Almand, Starla Almand, Devin Almand, Heyleigh Almand; several nieces and nephews.
