Arnaudville – Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church for Louise S. Darby, 92, who passed away on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville.

Interment followed at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery.

Fr. Gary Schexnayder conducted the services.

Louise was the owner of Darby's Furniture Store in Arnaudville for 45 years. She was also a member of the Altar Society.

Survivors include her son, Vincent Darby and Rose of Arnaudville; her daughters, Jo Ann Darby Moreau of Opelousas, Cecile Darby Schexnider of Lafayette and Roberta Darby LeBlanc and her husband Chuck of Lafayette; her sister, Laura Robin of Arnaudville; her grandchildren, Clyde Darby, John Darby, Michael Darby, Louise "Tina" Darby Robin, Kenneth James Tauzin, Brenda Louise Moreau, Scott Moreau, Marie Moreau Crozier, Brett R. Schexnider, Clark H. Schexnider, Richard J. Schexnider, Grant J. Schexnider, Neal R. Schexnider, Laurie Darby Lormond, Lorraine LeBlanc Cox, Rachael LeBlanc, Charlie LeBlanc and Amanda LeBlanc; 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Darby; her sons, Jimmy Darby and Robert Darby; many brothers and sisters; and two grandsons, Dale Joseph Moreau and Louis Darby.

A rosary was recited at at 6 p.m. on Monday.

Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudville was in charge of arrangements.
