Born in Logan, West Virginia, May 11, 1925, he served 27 years in the United States Marine Corps, was a member of the Barstow Moose Lodge, was a warehouse (Civil Service) for the Marine Corps for the last nine years.
Survivors include his wife Velma; sons Michael Knabe of Fresno and Donald Knabe of Rialto; daughter, Paula Giordano of Sqaw Valley; brothers Franklin Bowles of Burke, Virginia and Charles Bowles, of Denver, North Carolina; sisters Barbara Farthing of Vienna, Virginia and Patricia Lane of Beckley, West Virginia.
Visitation 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, with services 4 p.m. Wednesday, both in Mead Morturary, Barstow. Private interment
