Tennie is the daughter of Joseph A and Mary E. Godwin Smith. Granddaughter of Samual and Sarah Elizabeth Dyer Smith.

Her parents are linked to her, as is her husband, and their three children.

She and her family moved to Rolla by the time she was 6 years old in 1880.

Per her son's info on Death Certificate, her birthday is Aug 21, 1876. This date was also used for another sister who passed away in Iowa, and another sisters Certificate in MO. says her birthdate was Feb 20, 1876. So I have to go by census records, she was really born in Aug of 1874. (Which now her stone confirms)

She was united in marriage with Edwin Thompson Perkins, on 26 Dec 1899 according to Missouri Marriage records, yet she is listed June 2 of 1900 with her family in Rolla as single and a music teacher. Am guessing her family didn't know. (?) Also with in 3 days of that census, on June 5, 1900 she and Edwin are listed in Colorado as boarders in a home in that census, where he is an Assayer. He always worked in Mines.
