Ardmore — Ruby Lou Aycox, age 71, passed away January 9, 2012, in Tishomingo, Okla. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2012, in The Chapel at Griffin-Hillcrest, Ardmore. The family will officiate her celebration of life service. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore.



Ruby was born November 11, 1940, in Walters, Okla., to Reavy Aycox and Maudie Lorene (Davidson) Aycox.
She attended Plainview and Dickson schools. Ruby attended vo-tech and became a Certified Nurse's Aide and a phlebotomist. She moved to Ardmore in 1967. She worked in the nursery at Adventist Hospital in labor and delivery. She retired in 2001 from Mercy Hospital. Ruby was devoted to her sisters and enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and cake decorating. She loved animals and her puppies. Ruby was a Sunday school teacher, played piano, and sang in church.



Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Kenneth Ray Aycox.



She is survived by three sisters, Lora Haworth of Tishomingo, Lanell Beauchamp and husband, Joe of Clinton, Okla., and Mary Owen and husband, John of Madill; five nieces; two nephews; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.



Pallbearers will be James Culp, Larry Owen, T.J. Taylor, Mitch Barnwell, Jerry Dollins, and Travis Taylor.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Griffin-Hillcrest Chapel, Ardmore.
