He was admitted to Receiving and Wayside Hospital, Richmond, Virginia on October 1, 1864 and was transferred to General Hospital Camp Winder, Richmond, Virginia on October 3, 1864. He was furloughed for 60 days on December 2, 1864. He was listed as being 5' 8" tall.
