She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. & Mrs. Fred Keibler, Sr. (Nora Duncan) and two brothers Frank and Fred, Jr. and one brother-in-law Harry Oscar Warner. She leaves six siblings Mrs. Kathleen Keibler-Warner, Mrs. Larry (Shirley Keibler) Dailey, Charles (Imogene), Cecil (Ruby), Eugene (Loretta), and Ralph (Jane) and a host of loving nieces and nephews. She is fondly remembered for always keeping her brother Frank alive in her stories for his children.
She was McKell High School band booster and member of the PTA. She served in the U.S Navy during World War II (WWII) in the Nurse Corps and was an active and Lifetime member of the James L. Flannery Post, American Legion of South Shore, Kentucky.
She loved spending time at the Monastery of Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration in Portsmouth, Ohio, this was her place of Christian retreat. She was known throughout Mercy Hospital for her love and admiration for the Sisters of Mercy.
The Monastery of Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration was founded in Portsmouth, Ohio, in 1956. As the years went by, the Sisters were not growing in numbers and the Monastery began to decline as the Sisters grew older. Two Sisters from Mother Angelica's Monastery in Hanceville, Alabama came to bring new life to the aging community. After 7 years of working to improve the situation in Portsmouth, no doors were opening for the future of the Monastery.
Then, through a surprising series of events, we were invited to re-found our Monastery in Charlotte, North Carolina. After much prayer and discernment, we petitioned the Holy See for permission to transfer. In March 2010, we recieved the permissions for our new beginning in Charlotte. We are currently living in a convent at St. Ann's Church in Charlotte, which will be our home until we are able to build a Monastery.
