CLINTWOOD– Betty Kimbro, age 68, passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at Johnson City Medical Center in Tennessee.

Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of John Matt Baker and the late Ruby Stanley Eubank. She was a homemaker and of the Freewill Baptist faith. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lucy and F.L. Stanley; and an uncle, Carter Stanley and his wife Mary.

In addition to her father, she is survived by a son, John Eddie Walker of Taylor, Mich.; a daughter, Ruby Jean Hill; an uncle, Dr. Ralph Stanley and wife Jimmie of Coeburn; a granddaughter, Kelli Walker of Clintwood; cousins, Joey Litton, Lisa Marshall, Tonya Stanley, Carter Lee Stanley, Doris Jane Stanley, Billy Stanley, Bobby Stanley and Jeanie Stanley; and a special cousin, Ralph "Sugarfoot" Stanley II.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at Haysi Funeral Home, with Rev. Frank Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Hills of Home Cemetery, Smith Ridge. Pallbearers will be Ralph Stanley II, Joey Litton, Jack Rose, Bradley Hall and friends. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Haysi Funeral Home, where a song service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
