Virlia M. Parks of Bristol died Monday, Nov. 10, 1997 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Grayson County but lived most of her life in Smyth County and the Bristol area. She was the widow of Robert Harrison Parks and was a member of East End Christian Church. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Iola Minnotti.
She is survived by two daughters, Myrtle E. Parris of Bristol, and Mrs. Sherman (Penny) Mercer of Marion; four sons, Henry C. Parks of Pulaski, Robert B. Parks of Richmond, Ted D. Parks and Blane E. Parks, both of Bristol; three daughters-in-law; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, in Blevins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ron Thompson and minister Samuel K. Saunders officiating. Burial followed at Mountain View Cemetery.
