Albert Buckles WL Businessman Dies at age 61
Albert William Buckles, 61, 1819 SE Sixth Avenue, West Linn (Willamette) died at his home at 7:30 a.m., Friday July 14 following a short illness.
He was born in West Linn on January 3, 1900 and lived in the community for his entire life-time. He was a member of the Baptist Church, Oregon City.
Mr. Buckles was married in 1920 and went into the grocery business shortly after his wedding. He has been engaged in the same business since that time.
Mr. Buckles is survived by his wife, Tempest; two sons, Albert W. and William, Jr., both living at home; one daughter, Mrs. D. (Bernice) Milliken, West Linn; his mother, Mrs. Della Buckles, West Linn and two grandchildren, Craig and Jill Casada.
He attended Oregon City public schools and was active in community affairs in West Linn. He was a retired volunteer fireman and had been a West Linn city councilman for three terms.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Monday, July 17, at 1:30 p.m. at the Holman,Hankins & Rilance Funeral Home, Oregon City. Rev. Knight and Rev. Bauman will conduct the services. Burial will be at the Mountain View Cemetery.
