Verle graduated from high school in Webster County in Red Cloud, Nebraska. He entered the United States Navy, serving during World War II.
On April 27, 1942, he married Delores Barnes at Smith Center, Kansas. They came to McCook in 1969, where he spent the remainder of his life.
Verle was preceded in death by one son, Craig Eugene Francis, on May 12, 2011.
Verle is survived by his wife, Delores, of McCook.
Inurnment was in the Memorial Park Cemetery, McCook, NE.
