"Wife of John Shelby McIver
Married Sept. 3, 1873
Died May 4, 1895"

Davidson Co., TN marriage records show Sep. 2, 1873. Married in Nashville, TN. Both families were prominent in Middle Tennessee.

The J. S. McIver Family Plot (only Selene's grave) is at the corner of Auburn St. & Long St.

The stone looks like it was placed in the 1950's or 60's.

Dau. of John Kirkman "Johnie" & Matilda Graham Edmundson, who are buried in the Nashville City Cemetery, Nashville, TN.

John S. McIver was son of John McIver & Jane Roberson Martin.

Selene has a sister Matilda that is buried in Tuscaloosa, AL (probably Greenwood Cemetery).

It seems shortly after J. S. McIver married, they (J.S. & Selene) traveled west apparently on their way to California. Both baby girls were born in Wichita, KS. J.S. died in Albuquerque, NM in 1881. Selene & the girls end up back east in Lee Co., AL by 1895 when Selene died, Maude married, and Maude, her husband & sister Mary Lena moved to Birmingham. Selene may have had family here or close by.
