Countess of Darlington. The official version of who her parents were said it were Klara Elisabeth of Platen and Franz Ernst of Platen. But Klara Elisabeth was the mistress of Elector Ernst August of Hanover and Sophie Charlotte resembled him more than the Count of Platen. The family accepted her as Ernst Augusts daughter and treated her as the half-sister of the legitimate children. Her mother tried to marry her to Philipp Christoph of Königsmark but he declined the offer. She married Johann Adolf von Kielmannsegge instead. In 1714 her half-brother Georg Ludwig became King of England and she accompanied him to London. She is described to be very fat and was given the nickname 'The Elephant' by the English. She was later created Countess of Darlington and it was also rumored that she was her half-brothers mistress.
