Myrtle Alice Kanarski, 86
Myrtle Alice Kanarski was born May 12, 1912 at Wassaic, New York, the daughter of Israel and Ida May (Robinson) Savoy. She attended school in Chatham, New York and was married to Francis Mann. They were the parents of three children, Don, Carl and Norma.

In the late 1930s Myrtle moved to Minnesota and married Edward Rhodes in 1939. A son, Peter, was born to the couple.

Edward died in 1967 and Myrtle was married to Jack Kanarski in 1971. They made their home in Farwell from 1977 until his death in 1986. Myrtle continued to reside there until 1997 when she became a resident of Bethany Home in 1997.

Myrtle died at Bethany Home September 6, 1998 at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her three husbands: Francis Mann, Edward Rhodes and Jack Kanarski; her parents and brothers; and two sons: Carl and Donald Mann.

She is survived by a daughter Norma and husband John Weiderich of Deer Creek; a son Peter and wife Linda Rhodes of Alexandria; and two grandsons, Tim and Scott Rhodes.

A funeral service was held at Bethany Home Chapel on September 9, 1998 with Reverend Dan Christ officiating. Music was provided by Lynn Lynch, organist and Richard Osterberg, soloist.

Interment followed in the Farwell City Cemetery with Mike Tvrdik, Daryl Tvrdik, Allen Gerdes, Rick Nelson, Chad Gerdes and Ryan Gerdes service as pallbearers.

Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria.
