The funeral of J. Holmes Martin took place at 11 o'clock this morning at the home of Mr. Henry B. Gray on South Highlands.
The remains of Mr. Martin reached Birmngham yesterday from Los Angeles Calif. where he died last week.
The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Thomas J. Beard and the body was laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The deceased was a brother of Mrs. Henry B. Gray, Mrs. Allen W. Haskell and William Mudd Martin.
Mr. Martin was a member of the Benevolent and Protective of Elks and was identifed with the Louisville lodge which sent a beautiful floral design to Birmingham.
The Elks of Los Angeles were very attentive to Mr. Martin during his illness and sent the body to this city in a handsome purple covered casket.
