Donald D. Rotsinger (Aug. 11, 1938-April 25, 2010), formerly of Sandusky, Ohio, died early Sunday morning, April 25, 2010, in Helena, following a brief illness.

Don was born Aug. 11, 1938, in Sandusky and was a 1958 graduate of Sandusky High School. He was a longtime member of the Erie County Conservation League and an accomplished marksman. His passion for the great outdoors took him to Montana in 1974 where he lived for over 35 years. He said there was no greater place on earth than Montana.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather as well as a devoted friend of many who knew him by his nickname, the old dog, He was a dedicated Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. His pastime favorites were fishing, hunting, guns, reading and a good game of cribbage. Don always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and always ready for a good joke or two. He will be missed by many.

Don is survived by two of his three children, Debbie Hecht (Bob) of Strongsville, Ohio, and Shay Rotsinger (Melissa) of Boise; three grandchildren, Bobby Hecht and Brittany Hecht of Strongsville, and Sydney Rotsinger of Boise; sister, Nancy Groves (Don) of Madison, Ala.; nieces, nephews; and many, many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Rotsinger; brother, Tom Rotsinger; son, Donnie Rotsinger; and parents, Walter and Edna (Bowers) Rotsinger.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rotsinger Family Memorial Scholarship by sending them to Carroll College, 1601 N. Benton Ave., Helena, MT 59625.He was the youngest son of Edna & Walter Rotsinger, his older brother Thomas was my dad, his sister Nancy was the only girl, he was very athletic, he loved to hunt & fish, he was a great father,husband to his wife Sarah who passed away from a brain tumor. His 1st born son Donald Jr was killed in a car accident in 1981. He was a fun loving uncle, we had really good times together. He will be missed by many.
