Born Aug. 31, 1963, in Danville, she was the daughter of Opal Loveless Rogers of Junction City and the late Tyndale Howard "Bud" Brown. She was a 1981 graduate of Danville High School, a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and attended Kentucky State University to earn her master's degree. She worked in Intelligence and Research/Development at the Kentucky State Police headquarters. She was a member of First Baptist Church and attended First Church of God.
Other survivors include her son, Benjamin Clifton Black of Danville; a sister, Vicki Brown (Charles) Thompson of Danville; her stepfather, Wince Rogers of Junction City; a stepsister, Wanda (Danny) Bugg of Harrodsburg; a stepbrother, Jerry (Shirley) Rogers of Junction City; a step-grandmother, Mary Frances Brown of Danville; mother-in-law, Lorene Black, and sister-in-law, Phyllis Streiff, both of Nashville; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First Church of God, Harrodsburg Road, with the Rev. Mike Cox officiating. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
