Russell Hager, 79, of Paintsville died Tuesday October 19 1971 at his home due to a sudden illness. He was the owner of a Paintsville pharmacy and was affiliated with the first United Methodist Church. He was the son of the late Daniel and Jane Melvin Hager. Immediate survivors include his wife, Dawson Halstead Hager; one son, Nat Halstead Hager of New York, New York and six grandchilden. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.H.Burton at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church. Burial followed in the Mayo Cemetery under direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
