Dorothy English Carpenter was born to Allison Embrey and Dora Frances (Bowdoin) Cone. She worked at Kelly Field as a Junior Aircraft Mechanic during WWII, returning to work in 1951, and retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 50 years, a Past Matron of the Logos Chapter, and a member of the Wimodausis Chapter. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Claude English; husband Robert Carpenter; son Claudie Jr.; daughter Judy Burr; and her 8 siblings.
She is survived by her two daughters; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 1pm-3pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas 78218. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 27, 2012 at 12 pm at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at San Fernando III Cemetery.
