Miss Minnie Orr McCreight, 77 passed away Sabbath morning, July 21,1940 at 9 o'clock at the home of her nephew, R.E. Winger of Aledo,
The deceased was born at Sunbeam, Illinois January 10, 1863. Her father, a Civil War Veteran, died while in the service. Later her mother married R.D. Speer Sr. of the Sunbeam Community.
Miss McCreight was preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters Miss Frances "Frankie" McCreight, Mrs. Clara B Winger of Aledo and her brother Alfred B. of Ashland, Nesbraska. Also, three step-sisters: Mrs. Willliam (Emma Jane) Speer Gilmore of Aledo, Mrs. Alva (Deborah Belle) Speer Aikins of Ashland, Oregon, and Miss Mary Elizabeth Speer of Sunbeam. Also, two step brothers who died in infancy in Ohio.

She is survived by two step-brothers, Walter Ormond Speer and Robert Duncan Speer Jr. both of Sunbeam, and half-brother Thomas Dihel Speer of Sunbeam, and a half-sister Mrs. May (Robert) Speer of Hanover, Illinois. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
She had made her home for the last ten years alternately with her half-sister Mrs. May Speer of Hanover, and her nephew Mr. R.E. Winger of Aledo. During her last illness, she was tenderly cared for by Mrs. Winger. For many her home was in the Sunbeam Community where she became a member of the Sunbeam United Presbyterian Church. Her life was always a splendid example of true faith and Christian living.
Services Tuesday Morning
Funeral Services were held from the Murphy Memorial Chapel in Aledo on Tuesday forenoon, July 23,1940 at 10 o'clock. Rev. Wm. R. Riddle, her pastor assisted by Rev. David Oyler of the Sunbeam Congregation were in charge of the services. Four of the pallbearers, Raymond Speer of Hanover, Stanley Speer, Ralph Gilmore, both of the Sunbeam Community, and Robert Winger of Aledo were nephews and grand-nephews of "Aunt Minnie" also, Lawrence Coffelt and Robert McCreight of Aledo. Burial was in the local cemetery.
