Paul E. Snakenberg, 77 of Sigourney, died Feb. 7, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
He was born March 5, 1926, in Plank Township near Sigourney to Ira and Barbara Strohman Snakenberg. He married Wilma James on Oct. 22, 1949, in What Cheer.
He attended school at Plank Township No.9, and farmed his grandfather's homestead near Harper for many years. He also raised draft horses. They then moved to Sigourney in 1995. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Janet Goss, Joyce Van Dyke and Shirley Smith; four grandchildren; and a brother, Eugene Snakenberg.
He was preceded by his parents; a sister, Barbara Dorothy Wehr, and twin brothers, James and John Snakenberg.
Services were Feb 10, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Sigourney, with burial in St. Mary Cemetery.
