COUNTY AUDITOR DIES AT 71 YRS.
Frank A. Eppley, RD2, county auditor, died last night at Carlisle Hospital. He was 71 years old.
He was born on Feb. 2, 1885, a son of the late Oscar and Mary Bushman Eppley and lived all his life in Cumberland County, the last 40 years in Middlesex Township. He was a widely-known farmer, stock dealer and auctioneer. He served 17 years as a county auditor, having been a member of the Board at the time of his death.
Surviving are five sons, Thomas D., Enola; Oscar M., RD6; Sylvester E., Duncannon; Robert M., Lemoyne, and Paul M., at home; four daughters, Mrs. Jessie Rohn, Shippensburg; Mrs. Clarence L. Brenneman and Mrs. Roy W. Thoman, both of RD2, and Miss Virginia L. Eppley, Carlisle; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Williams, Carlisle; five half-brothers, Charles Eppley, Carlisle; Raymond Eppley, Plainfield; Clarence Eppley, Harrisburg; Chester Eppley, New York, and Ralph Eppley, Pittsburgh, and 19 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Lutz-Hoffman Funeral Home, 219 North Hanover Street. Rev. William R. Marlow will officiate. Burial will be Westminster Cemetery. Friends may call tomorrow night at the Funeral home.
