Carl A. Horne was born on April 12, 1915 in May, Texas to George and Effie (McAllister) Horne. He was married to Etta Turnell in Coleman, Texas on August 30, 1949, she preceded him in death in 1988. He was Cowboy on several ranches in Coleman and McCulloch Counties for most of his life, while also caring for his sick wife and working for Earl Horne Plumbing and Horne Pipe and Supply Inc. Carl served in the United States Army in World War II from January 1942 to September 1944. He was a member of the Brownwood Evangelism Center. He is survived by one Brother Ernest "Pete" Horne of Salem Or; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Etta; brother, Earl Horne; and sisters, Alene Horne and Willie Heptinstall.
